Day 1: Arrival in Accra Arrive at Kotoka International Airport and proceed through immigration and customs. Your driver or guide will escort you to your hotel, where you can check in and settle down. Take the evening to explore the nearby surroundings at a relaxed pace or unwind after your journey. Day 2: Full Day in Accra Begin the day with a visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Center, a historical site dedicated to the life of the Pan-Africanist scholar. Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, where Ghana’s first president is honored. Stroll through the peaceful gardens and reflect on Ghana's independence journey. Stop by Independence Square, a symbolic site of Ghana's freedom, and take some memorable photographs. In the afternoon, visit Makola Market for an authentic local shopping experience or head to a gallery showcasing contemporary Ghanaian art. End your day with a serene evening walk along Labadi Beach, enjoying the coastal breeze. Day 3: Journey to Cape Coast Depart early for Cape Coast, a 3-hour drive through scenic landscapes. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about the transatlantic slave trade. Check into your beachside hotel and spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the sound of the waves. Day 4: Kakum National Park and Elmina Castle Begin the day with an excursion to Kakum National Park. Explore the tropical rainforest and experience the thrilling Canopy Walkway, suspended high above the forest floor. Afterward, travel to Elmina Castle, the oldest European building in Sub-Saharan Africa, for a guided tour highlighting its historical significance. Return to your accommodation and enjoy a tranquil evening by the beach. Day 5: Explore Aburi and Surroundings Travel to Aburi, a 4-hour drive that offers picturesque views of lush greenery and rolling hills. Explore local craft villages where artisans showcase handmade items, including wood carvings and textiles. Day 6: Ada Foah for Riverfront Relaxation Journey to Ada Foah, located at the estuary where the Volta River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Check into a riverside lodge and enjoy a boat ride on the Volta River. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing by the water or exploring the tranquil surroundings. Day 7: Akosombo Serenity Travel to Akosombo, a 2-hour drive from Ada Foah. Visit the Akosombo Dam, a marvel of engineering, and learn about its role in Ghana’s energy supply. Take a river cruise or simply unwind at your riverside accommodation, enjoying the scenic views of the Volta River. Day 8: Return to Accra and Departure Return to Accra, a 2-hour drive. Spend your remaining time shopping for souvenirs at the Arts Centre or exploring any final attractions.
